Irrepressible You was a delightful romance, that I just could not stop reading. Ben is a comedian who writes a satirical column for a British newspaper. He just got over a very ugly, public breakup and moves to Australia. There he meets the delightful, dimpled, adorable Amy, who has a troubled past and owns a couple of salons.Ben starts writing about their time together in his columns while they are falling fast in love. For Amy, learning to trust someone is hard because of her past... and she doesn't learn about his columns at first.
All in all I have to say that this was a very fun read... very original and fast paced. I loved the main characters, but I also love the minor characters and would love to see them in a book of their own. The author has a wonderful way with words that suck you right in and make you want to never stop reading. This book made me laugh and cry and scream at Ben through my screen.
I would recommend this book to all lovers of Romance... this was by far one of the best romance novels I have read in a very long time. I can't wait for this author to write more books!

The Barbershop Girl 9780143797333 Books Reviews
Lively, slightly tongue in cheek and hilarious while still being a cracker romance (with some seriously steamy scenes!). I really enjoyed the dialogue between the two main characters - very witty. Of course, like any good romance story, there's a storm brewing throughout which plays out deliciously in the end!
It was also great to read an Aussie romance set in my home town of Perth, Western Australia. Overall, an entertaining read - looking forward to the next one!
I loved Amy and Ben's story. I couldn't put the book down! Amy is absolutely adorable and Ben is the perfect lovable cad. He makes you want to curse and swear at him for being such a fool, especially with someone as precious as Amy.
Georgina Penney's writing draws you into the scene and the story as well as making you love the characters. I just hope some of the minor characters get their own stories because I want to know more about them as well! Miss Penney gives chick lit a refreshing new voice. Strongly recommended to everyone who enjoys the romance genre.
If you're new to Georgina Penney's work, prepare to enter a beautifully-drawn Australia, led by a loveable and downright sexy cast of characters you'll want to split a bottle (or three) of wine with. Amy and Ben's chemistry practically burns up the page, and their snappy dialogue is quick, organic and funny. The sex is fantastic -- no "throbbing members" here -- just steamy, lusty encounters that will put a little extra heat in your day at the beach. This is a MUST READ poolside or seaside. Penney's superbly drawn characters and agile prose will leave you wanting much, much more.
I absolutely adored this book. Georgina Penney has a warm and engaging voice, one that draws the reader in and invites them to stay in her world for awhile.
All the characters in Irrepressible You were well drawn and convincing. Amy is not your stock standard romance heroine - she's a wee bit quirky, which I loved!
Ben is simply gorgeous - he's got just enough "bad boy" going on to make him interesting (and sexy!) but he's really a sweetheart underneath.
This book is warm and funny on the surface, but underneath there is a deeper emotional story, one that is told with sensitivity.
All in all, a deeply satisfying read.
This is an incredibly engaging story. I couldn't stop reading and only wished it was possible to physically shake Ben and have him wake up to what he was going to ruin. The author has done an amazing job of creating a character who is so arrogant and egotistical that we should hate him but instead love him and want to set him straight. The character of Amy brings so much humour, warmth and love to the story. Again she is quirky and different but someone you just want life to turn out well for. Other minor characters, particularly Amy's sister, are fantastic additions to a wonderful story. I can't wait to read the prequel.
This author has a talent not many authors possess. She can bring you a story with characters that shouldn't fit and end of pulling you so deep into the book you never want to put it down. She makes you laugh at the right times while making you think seriously other times. She made me fall in love with quirky Amy who loves her family, and her fifties pin up clothes and Ben who is if written by any other person a character I would hate, he is rude and blatantly disrespectful. But she makes you love him all the more because of those quirks. This is truly a special book. Hoping this author writes more. She is a rare gem in the author world. Oh how I adored this book! I could picture Amy from the vivid descriptions, and Ben was different to so many heroes. I think he was a lot more honest and life-like and that made me fall for him even though he made a few bad choices along the way!
The relationship between the sisters, Amy and Jo made reminded me exactly of my sister and I! My sister is the tough-talking miner, and so it rang really true for me. Amy and Jo have been through a lot in their life but are determined and focused, although there is a big secret between the two. Scott - well I really want a best friend like him!
Without giving anything away, I really liked the development of Amy throughout the book. She was true to herself and even more so at the end, and there is no way you won't fall in love with her. I'm looking forward to the second book now!
